Barcelona Design Tours. See the best of the city together with b-guided and diarioDESIGN.
Barcelona is known all over the world for its excellence in design and architecture, a reputation that has grown stronger over the time. Outstanding figures such as Javier Mariscal and Òscar Tusquets or new talents such as Jaime Hayon have strong connections with the city and its creative energy. That’s why we are proud to announce a new initiative together with the magazine B-Guided: Barcelona Design Tours.
Imagine getting to know the city’s best secrets in the hands of an expert journalist, architect or designer. This is what Barcelona Design Tours is about, a new service that will show the level of architecture and design excellence the city has achieved. Through three different tours, our expert guides will introduce the visitor to Barcelona’s distinct aesthetic by walking around shops, restaurants, emblematic interiors and even the workshops of emerging talent.
The tours cover the neighbourhoods of Ensanche, the Raval and Poblenou.
To avoid the traditional ‘guided tour’ format, these experiences are more like a leisurely, half-day walk with a knowledgeable friend, where visitors will gain an insight via what they see, touch and hear. Barcelona Design Tours can also arrange bespoke experiences for students and professionals of architecture and design, as well as journalists, where they will have the opportunity to speak to local professionals working in graphic, interior or industrial design.
Tours are conducted in English or Spanish and can be adapted according to participants needs and interests, length or special events.
Tours curated and explained by experts in architecture and design.
The expert guides of Barcelona Design Tours are, without a doubt, what makes the difference. They are:
Brian Gallagher. Born in Ireland and based in Barcelona, Brian is the co-founder and editor of the magazine B-Guided.
Elena Minguela. An industrial designer who contributes to diarioDESIGN as an expert.
Suzanne Wales. An Australian journalist who writes on Barcelona design and architecture for publications such as Dwell, Frame Magazine and Wallpaper*.
